U.S. Department of Education Deputy Assistant Secretary to Deliver Remarks at Clinton Global Initiative

U.S. Department of Education Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and Early Learning Jacqueline Jones will deliver remarks at the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), on Mon., Sept. 24 at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Tower in New York City. Jones will participate in a session focusing on how we can ensure more children benefit from early childhood education.

Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes global leaders to create and implement innovative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges. This year marks the first time that CGI will organize its largest meeting around a single theme, "Designing for Impact," which will explore how leaders can extend design thinking, often tied to startups and market-based solutions, from the private realm to accelerate positive outcomes for individuals' lives, their environments, and their systems of government, commerce and consumption.

CGI Annual Meetings have brought together more than 150 heads of state, 20 Nobel Prize laureates, and hundreds of leading CEOs, heads of foundations and NGOs, major philanthropists, and members of the media. To date CGI members have made more than 2,100 commitments, which are already improving the lives of nearly 400 million people in more than 180 countries.
