The OLMS Milwaukee District Office will conduct a workshop for all interested union trustees, audit committee members, staff, and other interested union officials. The workshop will familiarize trustees with the OLMS publication entitled Conducting Audits in Small Unions: A Guide for Trustees, which features a 10-step audit designed to help trustees carry out their responsibilities. Additionally, participants will be provided an opportunity, through a series of exercises involving financial records from a fictitious union, to see how the skills and techniques discussed in the Guide should be applied in “real-world” situations.

Town Hall Meetings to assist nuclear weapons workers,

The Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) will host two town hall meetings in Hamilton, Ohio, to provide information about a new class of former employees at the Feed Materials Production Center (FMPC) recently added to the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act's (EEOICPA) Special Exposure Cohort. DEEOIC's traveling resource center staff will also be available at the town hall meetings for extended periods of time to assist individuals interested in filing new claims under the EEOICPA. The town hall meetings will take place on September 25, 2012, at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The traveling resource center times will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. This event is not sponsored by the Fernald Preserve.

The Columbus District Office will host a seminar for new and existing contractors and subcontractors on the development of Affirmative Action Plans as required by Executive Order 11246, as amended, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, as amended, as well as analyzing personnel activity data and maintaining applicant flow data.
