The Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth has many exciting, diverse, and innovative activities in progress as we introduce creative educational models for teaching medical students and residents.

The Department of Family Medicine provides leadership within the institution by providing both didactic and clinical preceptorship educational experiences. These experiences allow the students to be highly interactive in patient care while learning from outstanding role-models in culturally diverse settings. Primary health care is our focus and it is our success. Our department was recently named to the Top 20 Specialty Ranking in Family Medicine by the U.S. News & World Report, 2010 and 2011 editions.
