Welcome

The Maryland Treatment Centers Inc. (MTC) behavioral health care family consists of dedicated professionals committed to ensuring that all patients receive the individualized treatment and caring support they need on their journeys to health and recovery.

The MTC organization offers substance abuse, mental health and dual diagnosis education, prevention and treatment in discrete and highly specialized programs. Throughout our thirty-five year history, the clinicians at MTC have pioneered many innovative programs for unique and diverse populations including dually diagnosed individuals, young adults, adults, adolescents, pregnant women and teens, women with young children, individuals who have trouble with prescription pain medications and adolescents with serious learning, social and behavioral issues.  Because we are committed to treatment for co-occurring disorders, we have integrated psychiatric and mental health treatment into substance abuse services throughout our continuum.

An example of our innovative programming are the recently established Youth Opioid Treatment Programs at Mountain Manor in Baltimore and Avery Road Combined Care in Rockville – state of the art specialty programs for adolescents and young adults with opioid dependence (either prescription pain pills or heroin). Our clinicians actively engage these young people in ongoing treatment and give them access to the combination of counseling and medications they need in order to get well and stay well.

Medication Treatment can play an important role in helping some persons recover from substance problems. Examples include medications used to improve the safety and comfort of detoxification. Sometimes medication treatment for a co-occurring psychiatric disorder (dual diagnosis) such as depression can make a big difference in helping a person towards abstinence and recovery. In some cases relapse prevention medications such as extended release naltrexone (Vivitrol) and buprenorphine (Suboxone) can help reduce cravings and improve the chances for lasting recovery. Ask our professionals about whether the combination of medications and counseling may play a role in treatment for you or a loved one.
