U.S. Office of Personnel Management - Recruiting, Retaining and Honoring a World-Class Workforce to Serve the American People

The 2006 Federal Workforce Conference, sponsored by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) was held on February 27 – March 2, 2006.  Over 1,500 participants from over 60 Federal agencies and private sector organizations attended the four day conference.  OPM Director, Linda M. Springer kicked off the conference with the keynote address.  Featured speakers included The Honorable Dan G. Blair, Deputy Director, U.S. Office of Personnel Management; The Honorable Michael S. Steele, Lieutenant Governor, State of Maryland; The Honorable Mark W. Everson, Commissioner, Internal Revenue Service, Department of the Treasury; The Honorable Gordon England, Deputy Secretary, Department of Defense; The Honorable R. James Nicholson, Secretary, Department of Veterans Affairs; Hyrum W. Smith, Co-Founder, Franklin Covey, and Gerard Kraines, M.D., President and CEO, The Levinson Institute.
