WHAT: The National Archives will host its fifth annual Genealogy Fair. The fair showcases Federal records located at the National Archives and professional genealogy organizations’ resources for doing research on family history. We will announce the winners of the National Archives Awards for Excellence in Genealogy during the fair. The fair will provide information and guidance for experienced genealogy professionals and beginners. This event is free and open to the public in partnership with the Foundation for the National Archives and Ancestry.com.

Session topics include three tracks; Getting Started, Online Records and Databases, and Other Selected Topics.

WHERE: Research Center Lobby and Pennsylvania Avenue Plaza (outside), National Archives Building, 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.

See the fair layout in a diagram showing the location of the sessions and exhibitors. A Government-issued photo identification or student ID is required to enter the building. The closest Metro stop is the Archives/Navy Memorial stop on the Yellow and Green lines. The National Archives is fully accessible. If you need to request an accommodation (e.g., sign language interpreter) for a public program, please e-mail reservations.nwe@nara.gov or call 202-357-5000 at least two weeks prior to the event to ensure proper arrangements are secured.

WHO: Speakers and exhibitors include National Archives staff, historians and professionals from the genealogy community who are experts in records that assist with genealogy research.
