Thermometry and Humidity Services

Scope of Services
NIST has a long tradition of providing instrument calibrations to customers. Our calibration services in temperature and humidity cover a broad range of instrument types and range of temperature and humidity concentration, all at state-of-the-art uncertainties.

Beyond calibrations, we provide a large variety of testing and consultation services.

Laboratory Measurements
In our laboratories, we perform

• sensor drift tests
• evaluation of instrument performance, for both commercial and prototype instruments
• studies of sensor drift and uncertainty

Our strong background in metrology enables us to quickly design customized test protocols to meet your particular needs.

We offer a wide range of proficiency tests, tailored in cost and measurement uncertainty to suit the customer's needs. We routinely conduct tests of private laboratories equal in metrological rigor to international comparisons between national metrology institutes.

Consulting Services
We also can provide

• thermal modeling
• guidance on uncertainty budgets
• consultation on difficult temperature or humidity applications

Through the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP), we serve as technical assessors in the laboratory accreditation process.

Costs
An initial consultation is free; further work is billed at cost.
