The mission of the PRAO is to ensure prompt, consistent advice to Department attorneys and Assistant United States Attorneys with respect to professional responsibility and choice-of-law issues.

Complaints concerning the actions of individual Department attorneys and Assistant United States Attorneys are not processed and/or handled by PRAO but should be referred to the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR).
