sad woman October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

One in every four (25%) women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. Every day, 3 women in the U.S. die because of domestic violence. October is a time to remember those who have lost their lives and honor the work done across the Commonwealth of Virginia to end domestic violence. Each of us can play a role in ending domestic violence by supporting survivors, speaking out against attitudes that perpetuate the cycle of violence, and encouraging healthy relationships for youth.
