Attorney General Eric Holder’s Task Force on Children Exposed to Violence Briefs Congress
Over the last year, the Attorney General’s Task Force on Children Exposed to Violence has traveled the country, listening to practitioners, policymakers, academics, concerned citizens, and victims. Its goal was to find out how violence and abuse are affecting our kids and our communities and to explore what actions we can take to prevent children’s exposure to violence and mitigate its effects. Federal Agencies Convene Week-Long Intertribal Youth Summit in Washington, DC
Focuses on Critical Youth Issues and Youth Leadership
This week, more than 200 American Indian youth and adult leaders from 53 tribal communities across the country convened at the week-long 2012 National Intertribal Youth Summit in Washington, DC. Students arrived Saturday to attend the Summit which featured Federal officials from the White House and the Departments of Justice, Interior, Health and Human Services and Education. The Summit provided a unique opportunity for Federal officials to hear directly from tribal youth through discussions on topics such as education, health, cultural preservation, civic engagement, and leadership development.

Justice Department Commemorates National Missing Children’s Day
The disappearance of 6-year-old Etan Patz on May 25, 1979, of Adam Walsh in 1981, and the murders of 29 children in Atlanta during those same years forced our nation to realize we had no national response system in place to coordinate the efforts among federal, state, and local law enforcement when children went missing.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) recently announced partnerships designed to fight consumer fraud and reduce the number of unsafe or stolen vehicles retitled or sold. Data provider companies, Auto Data Direct, Inc., Carco Group, Inc., CARFAX, CVR, Experian Automotive, Mobiletrac, LLC., Motor Vehicle Software Corporation, RigDig, VINAudit.com, LLC., and VINSmart, joined BJA's effort to protect consumers by providing consumer access to the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System.
