From the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, I’m Ira Dreyfuss with HHS HealthBeat.

Information about diseases, drugs, and wellness is no farther away than an Internet-enabled mobile device like many cell phones; but the torrent of Internet information doesn’t fit well on a tiny phone screen. So the National Library of Medicine, part of the National Institutes of Health, has created a mobile-friendly version of its authoritative consumer information Web site, MedlinePlus, which it calls Mobile MedlinePlus. You can find it at m.medlineplus.gov.

At the NLM, Loren Frant has some examples of answers while you’re on the move:

"If you’re wondering what the side effects are for your new prescription, you can go to Mobile MedlinePlus. When you’re in the waiting room, you could visit the `Talking with Your Doctor’ page on Mobile MedlinePlus, to learn how to get the most out of your doctor’s visit." (11 seconds)
