Laboratory Methods for Detecting Rabies Virus 
Designed for individuals performing rabies testing in public health laboratories, this four and one-half day workshop addresses traditional rabies testing techniques, safety in the rabies laboratory, specimen acquisition and preparation, rabies quality control and proficiency testing, standardized testing procedures, emerging technologies, and epidemiologic issues.

Symposium on Human Rabies Prevention and Control

Symposium on Human Rabies Prevention and Control 
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Puerto Rico Department of Health will host a symposium on October 22, 2011 entitled "Human Rabies Prevention and Control" following the annual Rabies in the Americas conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Continuing education for this activity is pending. See final announcement for details.

Rabies Postexposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Basics 
This online course is designed to educate healthcare providers and public health professionals about rabies, the approach used in evaluating patients for rabies virus exposure, and the administration of rabies postexposure prophylaxis (PEP) as recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
