Deputy Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs
Joani Walsh currently serves as Deputy Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs at the United States Department of Agriculture. She has more than a decade of experience working on domestic and international agricultural initiatives, most recently serving as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor for the Research, Education & Economics mission area of USDA providing management and leadership support for the Department's four research agencies. In April 2011, she served as the interim USDA Communications Director to help ensure stable management and leadership during transition. She received her M.P.A. from Harvard University as a Public Service Fellow and her B.A. in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University.
