I retired in Feb. 2010 and my disability retirement case has yet to be finalized. I just moved from CA to AZ and am need to change my health insurance to another provider because Kaiser is not available in AZ and cannot reach find out any answers because the office responsible for doing this is also the office responsible for closing my case. I found out some people have paid for health costs out-of-pocket and then been reimbursed when they have been in this situation. What happens when you are on prescriptions meds or need to see a doctor? This is ridiculous. I also found out from a great guy in the health ben. dept they don't have to close your case to change over your health benefits coverage. I just spoke to someone and they said they had 70,000 people retire in one month!!!

Where on the Online Services do I go to update my password. I sent for a temp one and need to change it online? Also I did not pay SS it went to retirement. Was told when I was hired I would get that money if I quit, got fired or retired. Why is it put into my retirement over the next 20 yrs? I wont live 20 more years. Where does my money go. I was on OWCP for over 22 years and was told when I retired it was not a disability retirement. I was disabled and could not work all those years with post office. I was hurt in 1986, went out on OWCP in 87 and started retirement in 2011. Why am I not disabled anymore??

do I need to file income tax for my retirement money I receive? Why cant an employee of the post office that was injured on the job receive a settlement for a loss that is life long. I dont get much retirement because I got hurt after working 9 yrs, so my salary was not real high. I lost so much money and the injury is with me from now on.

I retired in October 2010 and still waiting for my retirement to be finalized. This is a regular FERS retirement and my congressman's office has been assisting me to no avail. I also sent a certified letter to the Director of OPM with my concerns and received no response. The customer service at OPM is terrible, no one seems to care or even return my phone calls. Everytime I call OPM I get conflicting information and excuses of why my retirement has not been finalized. I am living on a small interim payment which is not even enough to cover my monthly living expenses. What else can I do to expedite my retirement?

I sent my claim on Nov. 2010. I did hear from OPM around March 2010 only to send me the CSA claim number card. October 2011 came and still I had not here from OPM. With some effort and many, many phone calls I found a dear lady who was able to tell me that they had my claim and she will find out what is holding my annuity. She was able to get some temporary monies sent to my bank account by about October 2011(about $3200 for the 12 months I have been waiting, that is about $267 per month of wait!). Since then I have not heard a thing. So..... what is the status of my claim? I would like to get this going before Congress decides not to pay Federal employees. I had never been so frustrated. I had to find a part-time job; this was not on my retirement plan! Can anyone help??????

I took a voluntary early retirement in March 2009 at age 53. Will the annuity supplement at MRD (age 56) kick in automatically, or do I need to apply for this?

Stanley, my sentiments exactly! Corresponding with this agency is more than frustrating. Why they leave a message for you to leave a message and they will get back to you is rediculous. I have never had a return call even using the direct line to the paralegal assigned to my case. All we are asking is for a little respect in finding out the status of our claims and not have to wait months to find out that "something" was missing in the submission. OPM we were your colleagues and worked just as you, for this government; please have some respect for our plight as many of us are just hanging on.

Recently, my mother, a federal retiree passed away and I have been attempting to contact OPM through the toll-free line to verify her available benefits. At a time like this, this is obviously critical to settling her affairs, however there is a busy signal EVERY time I call the contact number, and now almost two weeks later, I still do not have an answer. I am a public employee too, and understand how agencies are being tasked to address their workloads with reduced resources; however, addressing the needs of employees and retirees is the core function of OPM and this situation is absolutely outrageous and is a prime example of bureaucracy at its worst. Federal employees and their families deserve better.

My 1099-R is WRONG! And, because of it, my state revenue department is saying I owe them A LOT OF MONEY! I've been trying to report this for TWO DAYS, but the phone at Retirement Services has been busy for TWO DAYS STRAIGHT! Will someone there PLEASE look up my name, and use e-mail address on file to contact me to see what happened. I only have 60 days to pay A LOT of money that I DO NOT HAVE because of this mistake. PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SOMEONE ANSWER THE PHONE AT OPM-RETIREMENT SERVICES, OR LOOK INTO THIS FROM YOUR DESK NOW. Thank you.

I received a letter this month from OPM saying they will cut my annuity based on the fact that I only worked 19+ years and I am 61 years old. The problem is that I have 3 more years of federal service under CSRS (1983-1986) for which I am not being credited. I know I took out my retirement in 1986 and went back to school and I need to replace that retirement. I'm also looking for work but my personnel file credits me with only 19 years of work. Please help! CSA#8489749.

I applied back in August 2011 for reinstatement of my benefits based on information I received from various OPM reps and after many calls and emails today she tells me I have to re-apply??? Why wait six months to tell me that?? I asked to speak to a supervisor and she hung up on me! Is that your version of customer service???
