Announcement of American Public Health Association (APHA) Learning Institute Course

Monitoring the Public’s Health: Using Data from the National Center for Health Statistics

This course will introduce participants to the wide range of NCHS data sets, including those of the National Vital Statistics System, National Health Interview Survey, National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, National Survey of Family Growth, and National Health Care Surveys. Data collection methods, analytic considerations, and methods of data access will be discussed. Examples of how NCHS data have been used to understand the population's health, influences on health, health outcomes, and health care access and use will be presented. Upcoming National Survey of Family Growth Research Conference (2012)

Registration is now OPEN for the 2012 Research Conference on the National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG), hosted by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), on Wednesday and Thursday October 17 and 18, 2012. The conference will be held at NCHS located in Hyattsville, Maryland, just outside Washington, DC.

The deadline for registration is October 3, 2012. Registration may be submitted online or sent by fax (301-458-4033) or email (nsfg@cdc.gov). Non-US citizens should contact the NSFG at least 2 weeks prior to the conference so clearance into the NCHS building can be obtained.
