Program Update: Seven National Centers for Biomedical Computing

National Centers for Biomedical Computing (NCBC) will develop and implement the core of a universal computing infrastructure that is urgently needed to speed progress in biomedical research. The centers will create innovative software programs and other tools that enable the biomedical community to integrate, analyze, model, simulate, and share data on human health and disease.

Collaborations with National Centers for Biomedical Computing (PAR-05-063)
This PAR is for projects from individual-investigators or small groups to collaborate with the recently-formed National Centers for Biomedical Computing (NCBCs). The intention of the collaborating projects is to engage researchers across the nation in building an excellent biomedical computing environment, using the computational tools and biological and behavioral application drivers of the funded NCBCs as foundation stones. The major goal of this program announcement (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-05-063.html) is to provide the resources for a wide range of biomedical, behavioral, and computational researchers to establish new collaborations with the NIH NCBCs.

 Application Receipt Dates(s): May 17, 2005; January 17, 2006; May 17, 2006; January 17, 2007; May 17, 2007; January 17, 2008
