OPERATIONS

BIA sponsors seven Interagency Hotshot Crews (IHCs) and supports a wildland fire engine fleet that numbers over 200 engines. Additionally, the BIA sponsors on average over 7,000 emergency firefighters every year. These firefighters fill positions on handcrews, camp crews, engines, and perform monitoring and rehab work after the wildfire.
