CDC’s Division of Diabetes Translation (DDT) announces:

Translating Research into Healthy Eye and Vision Loss Prevention

This 5-year grant has been developed to close the gap between optimal evidence-based eye care and existing practice and to reduce disparities in eye health.

The goal of this program is to improve the structure, process and outcome of eye care services through patient education.

The program will achieve these goals by:

  • Funding translational research centers to assess and evaluate system- and individual-level factors that impact access to and the quality of eye care.
  • Analyzing existing data to identify barriers and enablers to the delivery of efficient and cost-effective eye care.
