Kaiser Report Examines Role of Department of Defense in Global Health
This new report provides the first comprehensive look at the Defense Department's role in global health, examining its organizational structure, activities, strategy, policy, and budget for activities related to global health. It provides a full assessment of the department's global health engagement across the entire organization, and discusses key issues for policymakers and global health stakeholders at this time of transition in national security strategy and defense policy, as they consider how the Defense Department fits into the larger global health landscape.
 
New Kaiser/The Washington Post Swing State Poll on Medicare and the Election
A Kaiser Family Foundation/The Washington Post poll explores attitudes towards Medicare among registered voters in three swing states -- Florida, Virginia, and Ohio. While the economy remains the top issue, in each state about four in ten voters say Medicare is an extremely important issue to their vote. For seniors, Medicare rivals the economy as a top voting issue. As of mid-September, majorities of voters in these states say they would prefer to keep Medicare as it is rather than change it into a premium support system, a view shared by an even higher share — seven in ten — of seniors.
 
 
New Tracking Poll Finds Americans Rank Medicare Near the Top of Their Priorities in the Presidential Election, and Ahead of the Affordable Care Act
The September Kaiser Health Tracking Poll finds with the November election fast-approaching, Medicare trails only the economy and the federal budget deficit as key priorities for voters, and interest in the federal health program is even higher among seniors.
