Welcome to the Department of Defense Joint Inspector General web site - the official source for information on the Joint Inspector General Program. The Program enhances oversight of the Department by coordinating efforts and strengthening interagency relationships. We hope that you will find this site useful. The Joint Inspector General Program Office interfaces with Joint IGs worldwide while interpreting and advising on doctrine and procedures; managing mobile training teams; producing publications and guidance; overseeing the Joint IG Qualification Course; and developing an integrated Joint Information Management network. Mission

Institutionalize the professionalism of the DoDIG Joint IG Program through the development of doctrinal-type procedures and inherent functions in the Joint IG system serving as the underpinning for the Joint IG Qualification Course with the intent to unify the Departmental level of oversight effort while advancing the involvement of other Federal Agencies.

Function 

The tenets of the DoDIG Joint IG Program: serve as a Joint IG Liaison Office to interface with Joint IGs worldwide (COCOMs, Sub-Unified Commands, Joint Task Forces, Other Defense Agencies, Other Federal Agencies) advising them in the interpretation and application of Joint IG doctrine and procedures; manage the development and advancement of the Joint IG publications; execute staff assistance visits and mobile training teams with multi-disciplined teams; develop and administer the Joint IG Qualification Course producing mission ready Inspectors General through resident/non-resident training; and develop and manage the Joint IG Knowledge Management System.
