Webchat on the Importance of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Medicare and Medicaid
I recently participated in a webchat with Cindy Mann, director of the Center for Medicaid, CHIP, Survey and Certification and Jeff Crowley, senior advisor on disability at the White House. We discussed importance of two recent health care milestones: the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the 45th anniversary of Medicaid and Medicare.
These initiatives have been instrumental in shaping the health care system for people with disabilities and all Americans. We talked about their impact on making facilities more accessible and ensuring that millions of Americans get the health care they need. We also discussed programs like Money Follows the Person that help states give disabled individuals choices about where they receive treatment.
Many of you may find the conversation useful for yourself or someone you love.
