Find a Doctor
TRICARE often refers to doctors as "providers." Providers are any doctor, team of doctors, nurse-practitioner, physician assistant, hospital, clinic, laboratory, ambulance company or supplier of medical equipment that delivers medical services or supplies to you.
There are different types of providers you may see depending on which plan you are using.
Military Treatment Facility (MTF) Providers
MTFs are the core of the Military Health System. Usually, you'll get care at an MTF when enrolled in TRICARE Prime, TRICARE Prime Overseas or the TRICARE Young Adult-Prime Option at an MTF or if you are referred to an MTF for specialty care. Active duty service members and Prime-enrolled beneficiaries have the highest priority for care at MTFs while all others may receive care at MTFs on a space-available basis only.
Network Providers
Network providers have signed a contract to accept a negotiated rate and file TRICARE claims. You'll get care from network providers when enrolled in TRICARE Prime or the TRICARE Young Adult-Prime Option and sometimes TRICARE Prime Remote. If using TRICARE Standard and Extra, TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE Retired Reserve or the TRICARE Young Adult-Standard Option, you'll pay less for care received from network providers.

Non-Network Providers
Any TRICARE-authorized provider who hasn't joined the network is a non-network provider. You'll get care from non-network providers when using the TRICARE Standard option, TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE Retired Reserve, the TRICARE Young Adult-Standard Option or if enrolled in TRICARE Prime Remote and there are no network providers available in your remote location. If enrolled in TRICARE Prime or the TRICARE Young Adult-Prime Option, you may see a non-network provider if you decide to use the point of service option.

Medicare Providers
When using TRICARE For Life, you may visit any participating or non-participating Medicare provider. Medicare providers are available in the U.S. and U.S. Territories. To find a Medicare provider:

- Call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227)
Overseas Providers
The overseas contractor, International SOS, has established a network of qualified providers in all overseas areas. For assistance finding an overseas provider:
- Contact International SOS or
- Search the online provider directory
Please note:
- Prime enrollees in Canada will get most care from a Canadian Health Forces Facility
- Beneficiaries in the Philippines must select a provider from the Philippines Certified Provider List
US Family Health Plan Providers
When enrolled in the US Family Health Plan, you'll get care from your designated provider. You will not access care from MTFs or other TRICARE-authorized providers. Click on your provider below:
