Training: Peer-to-Peer Network Forensics
Peer-to-peer (P2P) networks allow individual computers to communicate and share files directly with other computers. P2P networks are not illegal but they are frequently used in criminal activity such as sharing copyright-protected music or child pornography.
ATC-NY (a subsidiary of Architecture Technology Corporation) received funding from NIJ to develop and host free training for state and local law enforcement officers in the use of P2P Marshal, a tool that identifies the kind and number of files that have been shared through P2P technology.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion. ATC-NY is in the process of getting this training accredited for in-service hours.
