Will the Federal Bureau of Prisons Pay for me to Move?
Reimbursement IS NOT authorized for travel and transportation for this position.
In accordance with 5 U.S.C. 3307, a maximum entry age of 36 has been established for initial appointment to a position in a Bureau of Prisons institution. However, the Department of Justice has granted an age requirement exemption for candidates of some faith traditions because there is a documented shortage of qualified candidates for those faith traditions who meet the maximum age entry. If you are above the maximum entry age but have prior federal law enforcement coverage, you MUST submit an SF-50 to verify prior coverage. Chaplains provide seven days a week, evenings, and weekend coverage to meet inmate religious needs. All chaplains will work a minimum of two evenings per week. Time spent on pastoral duties, supervision of inmate groups and administrative functions is equitably shared among all staff chaplains. Chaplains will work on their weekly day of religious observance and will regularly lead the religious service scheduled for that day. Chaplains will also be required to regularly work on the seasonal holy days of their faith tradition.
