Brenda Dann-Messier, assistant secretary for vocational and adult education, will discuss education and the economy during her keynote remarks at the Council on Competitiveness Conference on Friday, Oct. 5 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.

The conference will examine ways to increase U.S. manufacturing’s competitive advantage through talent driven innovation, and will provide attendees with the key issues of talent development facing the U.S.

As assistant secretary, Dann-Messier leads the Education Department's efforts in adult, career and technical education, as well as community colleges and correctional education.
