The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) gives civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities. It guarantees equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities in public accommodations, employment, transportation, state and local government services, and telecommunications.

Questions about the ADA
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) provides information about the ADA through a toll-free information line. This service permits businesses, state and local governments, and individuals to call and ask questions about general or specific ADA requirements including questions about the ADA Standards for Accessible Design.

ADA regulations, technical assistance materials, and publications are available in standard print as well as in large print, audiotape, Braille, or computer disk for people with disabilities.
