Center for Inherited Disease Research (CIDR)


Dr. Camilla Day manages scientific administrative functions for the Center for Inherited Disease Research (CIDR), an National Institutes of Health (NIH)-wide program administered by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). The CIDR program provides high-throughput genotyping and sequencing services to qualified projects via a contract to Johns Hopkins University.

As Scientific Review Officer for CIDR, Dr. Day manages the review of requests for CIDR Services. As Executive Director of the CIDR Board of Governors, Dr. Day serves as the main point of contact between CIDR and the 14 participating NIH institutes and manages meetings of the CIDR Board of Governors. Dr. Day also serves as a point of contact for investigators seeking CIDR services.

Dr. Day has been involved with NIH science administration since 1993 when she joined the Center for Scientific Review as a Scientific Review Officer. There she managed study sections covering molecular and cell biology, genetics and genomics, including Mammalian Genetics Study Section (MGN) and Genomics Computational Biology and Technology Study Section (GCAT). She also served as Chief for the Genes, Genomes and Genetic Integrated Review Group.

Dr. Day received her Ph.D. in biology from the University of California, San Diego in 1981.
