National Summit on Youth Preparedness

 

Webinar recordings from National Summit on Youth Preparedness are now available!

 

On September 15-16, 2010, the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Education, and the American Red Cross hosted the National Summit on Youth Preparedness. We invite you to view the recordings of the plenary sessions.

The Summit brought together approximately 180 attendees from the fields of youth communications, programs serving youth, developers of youth preparedness education, practitioners from the state, tribal, and local levels, and academia.  The goal of the Summit is to synthesize input from all participants to develop a framework for a national strategy on grades K-12 preparedness education to increase youth preparedness knowledge, skills, and behaviors, and to address youth of all abilities and backgrounds.  Proceedings from the Summit will be posted when available.

The Community Preparedness Webinar Series is conducted in DHS's HSIN Connect system. You do not need to register in advance, nor do you need a HSIN account in order to view our webinars. Audio for this webinar will be broadcast within HSIN Connect and you will hear the audio over your computer's speakers; there will not be a concurrent, phone-based teleconference. Questions and answers will be moderated via text-based chat inside the webinar.
