BALFOUR BEATTY/MCCARTHY A JOINT VENTURE
As part of the Department of Defense-Medical, Hospital Replacement Program (RP# 74650, P2# 322898) on the Fort Hood Hospital Replacement at Fort Hood/Killeen, Texas, the object of this project is to design and construct a complete new medical center with approximately 947,000 square feet to replace the existing Ft Hood Hospital, including construction of a new central utility plant. Construction will be located on the athletic field site adjacent to the existing hospital campus. Primary facilities will include the complete hospital replacement, consisting of all inpatient services, the ambulatory and outpatient clinics, ancillary services, emergency department, ambulance garage, building information systems and special foundations, utilizing EBD. Supporting facilities will include site work, parking, and utilities as stated in the Conformed Statement of Work and in accordance with the Conformed Terms and Conditions contained in RFP W9126G-10-R-0001.

The design of the project in nearing completion. The 100% Comprehensive Design was submitted June 11, 2012 and the final design reviews are ongoing. The site utility (storm, water, waste water and gas) work is coming to a close. The Hospital basement foundations and walls are in progress. Level one of the West Clinic is in place and the columns and formwork supporting Level 2 are ongoing. The underground roughin for the Central Utility Plant is complete and the Level 1 slab is in progress. |

Eventually the project will employee masonry, landscape, structural and miscellaneous steel, drywall, tile, painting, door and hardware, building specialty, sheetmetal and plumbing, fire alarm, control, kitchen equipment and medical equipment tradesmen. |
