Highest Percentage of Turnaround Funds Are Going To High Schools

New Rules Made More High Schools Eligible for Turnaround Money

As the recently released "Building a Grad Nation" report provides a renewed call to action to address high school graduation rates, the U.S. Department of Education announced today that of the more than 700 schools receiving School Improvement Grants (SIG) to implement one of the four turnaround models this year, 48 percent are high schools.

Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands to Receive Nearly $12 Million in Additional Recovery Funds

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that an additional $11,994,405 is now available for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. To date, CNMI has received $48,922,625 through the ARRA.

Guam to Receive More Than $24 Million in Additional Recovery Funds

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that an additional $24,995,119 is now available for Guam under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. To date, Guam has received $122,450,229 through the ARRA.
