There is a role for everyone in Team Nutrition, from the federal level to the local level. The role of USDA's Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is to establish policy, develop and distribute materials, develop partnerships with other federal agencies and national organizations, and promote Team Nutrition's messages through the national media. State Child Nutrition Agencies are also partners in making Team Nutrition work. They provide training and technical assistance to School Districts, recruit Team Nutrition Schools, develop partnerships with other state agencies and organizations, and promote Team Nutrition's messages through the media. For state-specific information on Team Nutrition activities, you may contact a State Child Nutrition Director administering the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
