This media toolkit is designed to assist you in engaging local and state media, to help spread the word about We Can!. It will provide you with the inside scoop on what’s “newsworthy”; who to approach and how to do it; tips for creating and disseminating materials such as news releases, matte articles, advisories, and pitches; guidance on how to identify and prepare spokespeople; and pointers on the art of interviewing.

We Can! "GO, SLOW, and WHOA" Widgets

What's a widget? A widget is a free, interactive tool that you can post to your Web site or blog that shares information about a topic or lets visitors participate in some other way.

What is the "GO, SLOW, and WHOA" widget?

It is an interactive badge that helps you learn which foods are lower in fat and calories to help your family maintain a healthy weight. It is based on our We Can! GO, SLOW, and WHOA Tip Sheet pdf icon (135KB) that explains the difference between "Go Foods," "Slow Foods," and "Whoa Foods." (Available in two sizes.)

 

To use the "GO, SLOW, and WHOA widget," you can manually embed it on a Web site or blog platform by copying and pasting the HTML embed code into the code of your Web site or blog.

 


The use of the We Can! widget is voluntary. The NHLBI cannot provide any technical support for setup or any other problems that may arise. In addition, we cannot be held responsible for any hardware or software failures that occur because of the installation or use of the widget.

We Can! Web Banners

To feature a Web banner of your choice on your Web page or blog, download the banner image or use the embed code provided. Incorporating the HTML code will link users who click on the banner to We Can! Web page. Copy the embed code and place it in the HTML of your page. If you choose to download and host an image on your site, please make sure to modify the code to match the path to your location of the banner graphic.

PC Users:

Right click on the banner image and select "Save Picture As..." or "Save Image As...". Save to desired location on your local computer.

Mac Users:

Click and hold on the banner image and select "Download Image to Disk" or "Save this Image as...". Save to desired location on your local computer.
