Office of Information Technology
OIT Tribal Shares Improvement Project

The mission of the IHS is to raise the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level.

In support of the IHS mission and its efforts to renew and strengthen partnerships with Tribes, Dr. Roubideaux sent a letter to Tribal leaders on August 16, 2010, announcing a plan to develop proposals for information technology Tribal shares. This letter directed the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to coordinate Area-based listening sessions to gather input from IHS/Tribal/Urban programs on changes they would like to see to the current structure used to determine how OIT Tribal Share are distributed for information technology services under Infrastructure, Office Automation, and Telecommunications (IOAT), Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS), and National Patient Information Reporting System (NPIRS).
