This website will give you an overview of the Improving Patient Care (IPC) program and the people involved. You’ll find training opportunities and learn how to join IPC. You’ll also find news and case studies from IPC sites, and you’ll be able to access the improvement tools and resources that are transforming the Indian health system.

IPC is making a difference in the health and well-being of American Indians and Alaska Natives. About 90 Indian Health Service, Tribal, and Urban Indian health facilities serving more than 400,000 Native people have joined the IPC program. These sites are making changes in the way health care is delivered by incorporating patient-centered, Indian health, medical home concepts—a system of care where patients get the care they want when they need it by their own care teams.

Working in teams, and with support from leading experts and peers, IPC sites have learned and applied the principles and processes of quality improvement. IPC sites have made great progress since 2006, when they began their improvement journeys.
