Welcome to the Cruise Volunteer Information Page

On most of the Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) bottom trawl, scallop, hydroacoustic and clam survey cruises aboard the NOAA research vessels, volunteers are welcome on a space available basis. This is a great opportunity for college graduates, fishermen, and others interested in learning more about our program to get a hands-on experience working aboard a research vessel. If you are interested in volunteering, you can start by clicking on the "How to Volunteer" link in the left hand side navigation bar, under the "Volunteer Info" section.  We also recommend you view the "Volunteer Presentation", "Preparing For A Cruise", and "Nautical and Fishing Terms" links to get a better understanding of what to expect when out to sea. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Katie Sowers at katherine.sowers@noaa.gov or call (508)495-2342.
