Description

The National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses (NFLPN), founded in 1949, offers membership to licensed practical/vocational nurses and students. As a professional organization it offers support and leadership to its members and advocates to secure recognition for LPNs within the health care community. Keeping LPNs informed about nursing issues and trends in health care is a major activity of NFLPN. It seeks to interpret the role of LPNs in the community and promotes high standards of practical nursing education, services, and practice nationwide. It serves as a source of information about practical practice standards, guidelines for continuing education, and guidelines for an expanded basic curriculum. The association emphasises continuing education and, as a member of the Council on the Continuing Education Unit, awards CEU credit for programs for LPNs from providers thoughout the nation.
