Are there any prerequisites for the training programs?
Yes. You can find them on this site under Resident Training.
How often are these training programs offered/conducted?
The CDP conducts multiple courses over 46 weeks in a year. Course training calendars can be found on this site under Course Schedules.
Who can attend these training programs?
Eligible disciplines can be found on this site under Resident Training > Responder Disciplines.
Will it cost me or my organization any money to attend?
State and local emergency responders' training is fully funded, including round-trip transportation, meals, and lodging. Federal, international, and private sector students can attend on a space-available, fee-for-service basis.
What is a Student ID number?
A Student ID number is a unique number assigned to a student to utilize for identification purposes while at the CDP. This precludes the use of your Social Security Number on a recurring basis.
How do I obtain a Student ID number?
Visit the CDP Training Administration System (CTAS) and click on the create account button. You will need to retain your login name and password in order to retrieve your travel documents.

Will the CDP pay overtime it will cost my organization to cover my work while I am attending training?
No. Any overtime must be taken care of by each organization independently.
Where is the CDP training facility located?
Anniston, Alabama, on the former Fort McClellan Army base.
How do I get there and who pays the travel costs?
Travel arrangements will be made for you to fly or drive. More information can be found on this site under Registration > Responder Handbook.
Where do I stay/sleep while attending CDP training programs?
The CDP has one-person dormitories that share a common bathroom. Photos can be found on this site under Travel > Lodging and Dining > Rooms.
How are meals provided?
Breakfast and dinner are provided at the dining hall in the lodging area. Lunch is provided at the CDP training complex.
