Grant Programs

Public Health Traineeships (PHT)
Funds schools of public health and other programs that provide graduate or specialized training in public health to support traineeships for students in biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health, toxicology, nutrition, or maternal and child health. 


Public Health Training Centers (PHTC)
Funds schools of public health and other programs that provide graduate or specialized training in public health to expand and enhance training opportunities that focus on the technical, scientific, managerial and leadership competencies and capabilities of the current and future public health workforce.


Preventive Medicine Residency (PMR)
Funds the planning, development, operation, or participation (including financial assistance to residents) in approved residency programs in preventive medicine and public health.


Integrative Medicine Program (IMP)
Funds accredited graduate medical education programs in preventive medicine to incorporate evidence-based integrative medicine in their residency curricula. The grants will receive support for a two year project period with a single budget period.


National coordinating center for Integrative Medicine (NccIM)    
Funds the establishment of one National coordinating center for Integrative Medicine to provide technical assistance to Integrative Medicine Program (IMP) grantees related to faculty development, trainee support, and planning, developing, and operating their training programs; collect data and evaluate the Integrative Medicine Program training program; provide support for the coordination and evaluation of faculty development programs established by the IMP grantees; and disseminate best practices and lessons learned.  The funding mechanism will be through a cooperative agreement.
