Ruck march

Eight members from the Air Force Office of Special Investigations Headquarters participated in a 31-mile ruck march in honor of the 31 lives lost when a helicopter went down in eastern Afghanistan Aug. 5, 2011. 30 American servicemembers and their K9 perished in the crash along with eight Afghan nationals. The OSI team's ruck march took them through Washington, D.C., to their final destination at Arlington National Cemetery. They were part of a group of 68 ruckers who embarked on the challenge that day. (U.S. Air Force photo courtesy of Master Sgt. John Percey.)

Recognition for saving a life

Brig. Gen. Kevin Jacobsen, OSI commander, presents a Command Civilian Award for Valor medal citation to Special Agent Bob Powers. Powers received the medal and citation for rescuing a man who had accidently caught himself on fire in a public restroom. Thanks to his actions, the man survived the day. Another OSI liaison event

Air Force Office of Special Investigations Detachment 632, Eielson AFB, AK, recently hosted a Law Enforcement Golf Tournament to promote relationship building with local law enforcement agencies. The event was conducted in conjunction with a food drive for a local charity. They collected more than 100 lbs. of dry and canned goods. The event included participants from the Drug Enforcement Agency, Fairbanks Correctional Center, North Pole Police Department, Fairbanks Police Department, Alaska State Troopers, Doyon Security Service, University of Alaska Fairbanks Police Department, Bureau of Land Management, Inspector General, 354th Fighter Wing, Eielson AFB, and Deputy Inspector General, 354 FW.
