Web 2.0 and Communications on Non-Government Sites

The Department uses non-government sites to make information and services more widely available. Sometimes we are directly engaging with you on these sites, sometimes we use these services because we want to be where you already are. It’s important to remember that these are commercial sites and are not required to follow government standards. It’s always a good idea to be familiar with the privacy policies and rules of these sites. You can usually find links to policies at the bottom of the page (footer) or sometimes at the top (header).

The Department is not currently using Myspace*, Picasa*, Vimeo* or virtual worlds like Second Life*. If you find any sites that seem like they are from the Department and are not listed above, they are not used by the Department. Refer to this list for future updates. You can sign-up for e-mail updates, too.
