Make an Impact! These words describe the focus of the second National Rx Drug Abuse Summit, to be held April 2-4, 2013, at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in Florida.
The 2013 National Rx Drug Abuse Summit will focus on ways we can Make an Impact in the fight against prescription drug abuse. The Summit is the only national collaboration of professionals from local, state, and federal agencies, business, academia, clinicians treatment providers, counselors, educators, state and national leaders, and advocates impacted by Rx drug abuse. Through this type of collaboration, your work can be more impactful in bringing solutions to this issue that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) declared a public health crisis in 2012.
Call for Presenters
You are invited to submit presentations for inclusion in this annual forum in one of five track categories. Deadline is Wednesday, October 31, 2012.
Who Should Attend?
Conference attendees will include: federal and state legislators and policy makers; federal and state executive leaders; health care practitioners; pharmacists; certified substance abuse counselors and recovery specialists; law enforcement personnel; treatment facility managers; advocates, families, and patients working to increase awareness and effect change; pharmaceutical executives; prominent academicians and researchers; government officials tasked with regulatory oversight; insurance payers and benefits managers; and suppliers of prescription monitoring technologies.

The National Advisory Board has been expanded for 2013. Members will guide program development and conference offerings. Once again, the Summit has partnered with Inquisit, to identify, design and deliver cutting-edge Continuing Education programs for conference attendees.

Operation UNITE (Unlawful Narcotics Investigations, Treatment and Education, Inc.) was created in 2003 by Congressman Harold “Hal” Rogers to rid communities of illegal drug use through a comprehensive approach that includes educating youth and the public, coordinating substance abuse treatment, and providing support for families and friends of substance abusers. UNITE serves Kentucky’s 32-county Fifth Congressional District.
