CAPT Nadine Simons is a nurse in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps and was appointed Regional Health Administrator (RHA) on April 1, 2011. Prior to this appointment, she served as Acting RHA for six months and as Deputy RHA for seven years. She also served as the regional program consultant for the Office of Population Affairs in Region IX for five years. She began her public health service career in 1987 as an occupational health nurse consultant with Federal Occupational Health and held various regional and national leadership positions in the Chicago and San Francisco regional offices.

Before joining the USPHS, her nursing experience included clinical and management positions in both the public and private sectors in the U.Ss and abroad, in several fields including occupational health, school health, primary care, family planning, public health nursing, and emergency services. CAPT Simons received her M.S. in community health nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her B.S.N. (cum laude) from Alverno College.
