Carmen Lomellin, Ambassador to the Organizations of American States, delivered remarks focusing on “The Summit of the Americas and Its Role in U.S. Foreign Policy.” Ambassador Lomellin addressed approximately 100 students from various universities and countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jordan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, South Korea, Thailand and Venezuela. Ambassador Lomellin was introduced by Michael Ratney, a Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Public Affairs.
