Division of Budget Policy, Execution & Review (BPER)

There are three branches in Division of Budget Policy, Execution and Review in the Office of Budget (OB), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Financial Resources (ASFR):

Congressional Liaison & Administration Branch (CLAB)
The Congressional Liaison & Administration Branch tracks and reports on appropriations and budget-related legislation, serves as an Office of Budget point of contact with Appropriations staff, coordinates preparation for the Secretary's appropriations and budget-related hearings, and manages Congressional information requests.

Budget Formulation and Execution Branch (BFEB)
The Budget Formulation and Execution Branch manages budget formulation and execution processes. This branch provides the technical budgeting expertise needed to formulate and justify requests and execute appropriations. BFEB maintains all Department-wide budget tables, coordinates the submission of budget justifications, manages cross-cutting budget data collections, and carries out Department-wide budget execution functions.

Budget and Performance Coordination Branch (BPCB)
The Budget and Performance Coordination Branch coordinates the Office of Budget’s formulation and reporting of the HHS performance budget, as well as other efforts to integrate performance with budget submissions. These efforts include preparing numerous performance and budget documents and monitoring compliance with the Government Performance and Results Act and other related legislation and guidance.
