Region IX women's health agenda

The priority emphasis areas in Region IX for women's health activities are HIV/AIDS, Minority Women's Health, Cancer and Breast Cancer Awareness, and Violence Prevention. To address these concerns, Region IX has established the following regional health agenda:

  • Design, develop and maintain a database of regional health care providers, advocates, services, researchers, partners, programs, and funding sources for a "Partners in Health Promotion Initiative;"
  • Convene annual Women's Health Advisory Council meetings to address key regional women's health issues, refine funding and activities priorities, and monitor progress made in women's health status;
  • Focus on critical women of color health issues through promotion of Brown Bag seminars, workshops, conferences, etc.
