Special Facility Use

Each year, NARA's Southeast Region in Morrow, GA, approves a limited number of proposals from outside organizations to hold events in its facility. Proposals are evaluated on the basis of the event's relation to NARA's mission and programs. The events held at NARA should promote increased understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of the regional holdings and services.

Outdoor Amphitheater: Our 300-seat amphitheater is perfect for outdoor lectures, classroom orientations, performances, and media
events. There are natural acoustics, electrical power boxes, and a podium as needed.

Examples of ways in which the facility can be used are for:

  • Musical or dramatic performances
  • Book signings
  • Formal receptions
  • Exhibit Viewing
  • Sit-down Dinners
  • Film series
  • Family reunions
  • Community programs
  • Teleconferences and Video conferencing

Our Event Space Includes:

Main Lobby: The lobby, with natural lighting, is suitable for a standing reception for 100. It contains our exhibit, "Firsthand History," comprising over 500 high-end facsimilies of regional holdings which document heroes of the Southeast.

 

Visitor Learning Center: This 2,500 square foot structure contains a bookstore, public restrooms, and catering space. The breezeway of the center is suitable for standing receptions or smaller public events.

 

Executive Conference Room: This 500-square-feet room is appropriate for use by small groups.
The table seats 15 guests and is complemented by satellite television, a front projection screen, and high-end teleconferencing capability.

Public Dining Area: The dining area can accommodate up to 100 visitors. It includes vending machines, a sink,
cabinet storage, microwave, and refrigerator. An outdoor patio is adjacent, and also available.

 

Conference Room: The facility boasts a 3,000 square foot conference room that can be sub-divided into three 1,000
square foot rooms. Each room can accommodate 75 guests theater-style, or 30 guests classroom-style.

 

Conference Room: The full conference room can accommodate 225 guests theater-style or 100 classroom-style. The
space features an audio-visual system, front and rear projection screens, satellite TV, and video-conferencing capability.

Event Support Costs

Event support costs, in the range of $250 to $2,500 per event, include staff oversight, security, facility management, and other services required for immediate support of the event. These costs are based upon the number of event participants, the spaces used, the length of the event, etc.
