Risk-based decision-making (RBDM) is a process in which decisions are made about sites contaminated by releases from underground storage tanks (USTs) according to the actual risk each site poses to human health and the environment
Federal Facilities Management
Federal facilities risk assessments determine the threat levels to human health and the environment at hazardous waste sites that are currently or were previously managed, owned, and/or operated by the Federal government.
The purpose of this web site is to provide information and related links that: 1) define environmental risk and the EPA concept of a risk assessment process, 2) show how the process is used in the OSWER regulatory programs and 3) provide additional links to EPA's web sites for information on policy, guidance, and research, and specific chemicals relative to risk assessment.
