CDC Injury Framing Initiative, Adding Power to Our Voices
The goal of the initiative is to encourage the adoption and integration of a coordinated message strategy based on the overarching injury message frame: "We want a society where people can live to their full potential."
Injury Framing Guide
Adding Power to Our Voices: Framing Guide for Communicating About Injury (1 MB, 43 pages) is designed to help organizations involved in injury and violence prevention and response speak with a consistent voice. The framing guide is built on the belief that the collective voice of many injury and violence professionals across several disciplines is much louder than that of an individual or single organization.
This guide incorporates framing theory, message development techniques and vehicles for explaining important public health statistics. The information and tools provided in this Guide can be used to build messages that can be included in press releases, speeches, annual reports, and research articles, to help health professionals better communicate with their audiences.
