Effective: December 1999

What clinical trials are covered?

All phases of cancer clinical trials authorized or approved by:

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • U.S. Food and Drug Administration (Investigational New Drug applications only)
  • U.S. Department of Defense
  • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Who is required to pay?

As of December 1999, all insurers in the state, including those affiliated with the New Jersey Association of Health Plans, have agreed to pay for the cost of the standard of care in covered cancer clinical trials.
