FDA Approval for Lapatinib Ditosylate
Use in CancerLapatinib ditosylate is approved to be used with other drugs to treat:
- Breast cancer that is advanced or has metastasized (spread to other parts of the body). It is used with:
- Capecitabine in women with HER2 positive (HER2+) breast cancer whose disease has not gotten better with other chemotherapy.
- Letrozole in postmenopausal women with HER2+ and hormone receptor positive breast cancer who need hormone therapy.
Lapatinib ditosylate is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer.
